This blogging thing completely overwhelms me. I manage to do many things consistently, but this is just not one of them. After Scott and the kids left for school this morning, I fixed a cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal, perfectly complete with a sliced banana and Land O' Lakes salty butter. I do this EVERY morning.

Blogging is something I WANT to do. It makes me feel good after I do it, and it makes me feel good when I read others, and get to see pictures giving a visual to their musings. I sat in complete quietness this morning with my heart heathy oats, heart artery hardening butter, heart stimulating, caffeinated coffee and discovered that this heart of mine is way to sensitive. I can almost hear the muffled chuckles from those of you who truly know me and my sometimes hardened and jaded exterior. But alas, this somewhat confident and bopity bop blonde shell is a farce, and I am ready to come out of the closet. As a former "in the closet" victim of said judicious heart, I will blog TODAY. I will blog freely without worry about who I am leaving out (grammar check on that one?) or not prioritizing, who I am not giving enough attention to in my family, which child might think I tend to favor. Yes, I will blog as if I did not care that my friends might think that I have nothing better to do than play on the computer all day. I RELEASE YOU ALL!!!

The above pictures depict what is rocking on the front porch of my mind TODAY, in no particular order or favor.

Saturday, January 15, 2011

Okay, I am going for a record! Here is some hilarious video of Scott's sledcam experience...turn up your volume so you can hear his commentary! My favorite part is when he bites it halfway down and drops the camera, then all you see at first is a boot stick up then his head!! Enjoy:) I think I will start trickling in some photos from the last year...Here is a favorite! Bo and Nate came over to make a gingerbread house! Such special memories.

I have completed the first step in updating my blog. I was getting tired the old template and everything about it. I hope to be back on this thing soon-have a whole entire year to catch up on-and I am getting a little tired of the mindless facebooking that took me away in the first place. Happy New Year. Boy am I glad 2010 is over. Here is a preview of good things to come...enjoy

marla logan...are you sitting down? It's me, mel, posting on my blog...Yes, I have been terrible. Facebook has entered my world. I thought I would give it a go because of a couple of reasons. 1. I am having dinner with Marla tonight, and I know she is going to talk extensively of a blog (bethany's) that I read just as frequently as she does, and then she is going to round it off with the 400th bursting forth of , "when are you going to update your blog, why don't you update your blog anymore? Did you see Bethany's blog today ( yes marla, I see bethany's blog almost everyday) ? " 2. So much has happened since my last post all the way back in APRIL! I want new dinner conversation, and I want our family (jennifer and ty ty, molly and brett, caty and ben, mom and dad) that we feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful family! Grandma Burns, Happy Birthday to you! and Mee Mee, your a fun little pudge, and you make us laugh. I want to go into full detail the special memories that we made this year at Christmas, but this list would go on for too long, so I will spare you for now. Kentucky with Scott's family was very nice, even if it was a whirlwhind trip. And Christmas day with Emmy, Becca and Katie made this year extra nice! Here are a few pics from all the fun... I can't wait to post pictures from our fall break trip to Disneyworld! But first, I will show you the pictures of our Christmas card rejects...funny! We plan to send out a card in January-until then, enjoy!
